American Idol - Top 3 - Song Spoilers

Cute huh? But, guess what, it's also D-day in Kansas City and S-day in Tampa Bay!
As the Idols visit their home towns we will learn at least a little bit about their song choices for next week. They will each sing three songs, one chosen by themselves, one by Clive Davis, and one by the judges. The judges choice is generally revealed during their hometown visits. Here is what we know so far:
- Simon Cowell has chosen "First Time Ever I saw Your Face", by Roberta Flack for David Cook.
- David Cook has chosen as his selection: "The World I Know", by Collective Soul.
I will be updating here as the stories come in!
- Randy Jackson selected "If I Ain't Got You", by Alesha Keys for Syesha.
- Paula Abdul selected "And So It Goes", by Billy Joel for David Archuleta.

American Idol - Top 6 - Syesha Mercado -- "One Rock & Roll Too Many"
Randy: Check it out; best performance to date.
Paula: Brought the house down.
Simon: Very sexy, I think is one of your strongest performances so far.
Me: cute song; I wasn't familiar with it.

American Idol - Top 7 - Syesha Mercado -- "Vanishing"
Randy: I like that you are bold; a tough song; and you did a good job all things considered.
Paula: This week you've been smart; you picked a song that won't get you compared to Mariah because its not a well known song.
Simon: I think technically it was very good indeed. I am not sure if I would have chosen a song that many people didn't know.
Me: sang it well.

American Idol - Top 8 - Syesha Mercado -- "I Believe"
Randy: I have to give you credit, it was ok, Fantasia has a such a connection
Paula: One of your most shining nights
Simon: Technically you sang it well, I didn't have the emotion. Last week you sang Whitney, this week Fantasia, and I want to find out who you are.
Me: The girl has some pipes.

American Idol - Top 9 - Syesha Mercado - "I Will Always Love You"
Randy: Yo, check it out, you took on the biggest tiger of the night, and not bad
Paula: Your voice has a velvety tone and thats it for you; i love it
Simon: One of the best pop songs ever written, not sure if it did you much good or not?
Me: She has a power voice, and sang this song sort of a combo of Dolly and Whitney. Sang it well, but kinda wish she had stuck with the Whitney version and shown off her power voice.

American Idol - Top 10 - Syesha Mercado - "If I Were Your Woman"
Randy: Yo; This is a good moment for me; the best I have ever heard you sing!
Paula: What is great is this is the performance people will remember; pitch perfect!
Simon: Definately the best so far; I think though, there is a limit to your vocals...
Me: Built on last weeks; but a little too much vocal gymnastics for me. But her 2nd best so far!
I actually wrote this before she finished nd she really blew it out at the end!

American Idol - Top 11 - Syesha Mercado - “Yesterday”
Randy: You took some liberties, very very good perofrmance tonight!
Paula: It's great to see how you make yourself so vulnerable. Work on correcting a little more with your eyes
Simon: I thought that was probably your best perofrmance so far.
Me: MUCH better! She really worked hard (you could tell) and it was really good!

American Idol - Syesha Mercado - "Got To Get You Into My Life”
Randy: Yo, Nice arrangement, started a little rough, it was a'ight
Paula: Started of pitchy, then you found your zone; you sounded great midway to end
Simon: I thought it was better than alright Randy; you looked nervous, much better than last week.
Me: I thought it was a good start! She did seem to start in a lower range than she was comfortable with. Once she got into her range it was pretty good.
VIDEO will follow after the show...
