Wednesday's Schedule!

Tonight is a busy night boys and girls!

I may not be live blogging the judges responses on SYTYCD tonight, BUT I should have the videos up as quickly as always. Expect the first hour's dances up before the show ends!

I also have a hair appointment (CRAP!) Thursday night, so I won't be able to LIVE blog the SYTYCD Results show either. But, I should be home in time for the eliminations.

Tonight at 9/8c is the Season Premeire of Project Runway immediately following the SYTYCD show. Last season was my first, so I'm pretty excited! Are you?

Tonight is also the first LIVE eviction on Big Brother 10! Anybody watching??

The summer TV season is heating up!!

Project Runway Returns July 16th!

Project Runway returns for it's final season on Bravo on July 16th! It's ALMOST "Time to Sew"! Despite speculation to the contrary, the entire gang - Heidi Klum, Tim Gunn, Michael Kors and Nina Garcia will all return for Season 4.

Project Runway is promising even bigger names in fashion, sports and design will guest star in this final season before moving to the Lifetime channel.

According to Bravo:

The 15 “Project Runway” contestants will be whittled down to the finalists who will show their own line in front of an audience of fashion industry movers and shakers at New York Fashion Week. As part of the winner’s prize package, an editorial feature on the winning designer will run in an issue of ELLE, the winner will walk away with a cash prize of $100,000 from TRESemmé professional hair care to start their own line, and will have the opportunity to sell a fashion line on Bluefly.com. Saturn will award the winner a 2008 Saturn Astra.

Mad Men and Project Runway Win Peabody Awards

Two favorites of MeTalkinToYou have been awarded Peabody Awards!

The George Foster Peabody Awards....
...recognize distinguished achievement and meritorious public service by TV and radio stations, networks, producing organizations, individuals and the World Wide Web.

The awards program, established in 1940 and administered by the University of Georgia's Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, is the oldest, most prestigious honor in electronic media.

Here's what they said about each:

Project Runway Bravo, The Weinstein Company, The Magical Elves, Full Picture

A series that redeems the reality-contest genre, this face-off competition among upstart fashion designers demands, displays and ultimately rewards creativity that can`t be bluffed.

Mad Men AMC, Lionsgate Pictures Television

The way they were on Madison Avenue, in the Manhattan towers and the bedroom communities of New York, circa 1960, is recalled in rich detail and a haze of cigarette smoke in this exemplary period dramatic series.

Kimberley Locke to Look Fierce!

This weeks People magazine is doing a spread on Christian Siriano, Winner of Project Runway!

In the article Christian is reporting that he has aready designed a dress for Victoria (Posh) Beckham AND for American Idol alum Kimberley Locke.

The article also reports that Kimberley will be performing her new single "Fall" on next Wednesday's Results show.

Will she be wearing Christian's dress? I would have to think so, otherwise why mention her appearance in an article about Christian? Secondly, is "next Wednesday" this Wednesday? We should find out tonight!

I LOVE it when my two worlds collide!

Project Runway - Finale - Part 1

Tim visited all four designers during the 5 months they had to create their runway designs. Their budget was $8,000.

Some pics of the final elimination:

The judges liked both collections, but in the end chose Rami to be the third designer to present at Fasion Week.

I really want to go back and take another look at the collections now!

Project Runway - Reunion!

I tuned into Project Runway the other night and expected to find the Finale, and instead got the Reunion. I guess American Idol has kept me so busy, I didn't realize the Finale is still 2 WEEKS away!

Here are some pics from the show.

First the Designers:

Then, Heidi, Tim and the Judges:

And, what the hell was up with Victorya?

Congratulations to Fan Favorite Winner...

Project Runway - The Art of Fashion

This week the designers learned would be the final week before Bryant Park and two designers would be eliminated. They were taken on a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum on Art and asked to find inspiration in one of three rooms, the Greek and Roman Sculpture courtyard, the European Painting wing, and the Temple of Dendur. Fabulous designs! They all chose something from the European Painting wing, except for Rami...naturally.

The Winner: Christian!

Also getting to go to Bryant Park: Jillian!

Out: Sweet P!

And in a surprising twist, the judges were deadlocked between Rami and Chris. The judges decided both designers would prepare a collection for Bryant Park, present what they feel are their three strongest looks to the judges, and one will remain in the competition for the winner of Project Runway!

Here is Rami's look:

And Chris:

Does anybody else think Christian has got this in the BAG? I totally do, but we'll see what happens next week!

FYI: There was no mention of Sweet P also getting a chance at Bryant Park?

Project Runway - Fashion Week - Spoilers

Although I am sort of in the business of "spoilers", I have shied away from Project Runway spoilers popping up over the last week. With Fashion Week going on I guess it's inevitable that someone is going to "talk"!

Here's what we DON'T KNOW - The Final Three!

Here's what we DO KNOW - ALL FIVE remaining designers presented a line in Bryant Park during Fashion Week!

Even though ALL FIVE designers presented a line, only THREE of them were still competing. Looking at the level of talent this year, that is probably not a stretch, AND it helps BRAVO keep the final three under wraps.

Here's a peak at each of their lines. I shied away from looking for awhile, but even BRAVO has pictures of their collections up! Looking at one picture here won't hurt! Here we go:

My thoughts in a word (or two)? Sweet P - Hits and misses, Chris - Great fabrics and colors!, Rami - Hard to find a piece I liked?, Jillian - Disappointing, Christian - FIERCE!

BRAVO TV has the entire collections here! Check them out!

Project Runway - Raw Talent

The challenge this week for the designers was to create a look for a WWE Diva to wear in the ring. Each designer selected a "client" after the ladies introduced themselves and explained to the designers the image they present on the stage and will need/want in their outfit.

Chris wins the challenge! Considering his costuming background, hardly a surprise. His client Maria, described herself as "Glam Rock":

Christian just misses ANOTHER win. How many times has that happenned this season? His client Krystal loves "Leather and Lace".

Another strong performance as well for Jillian. Her client Michelle described herself as "The Girl Next Door". A perfect fit for Jillian:

Rami really stumbled in this challenge. His client Torrie described herself as an "All American Girl". His design was AWFUL and he knew it. I am convinced he would have been the one "Aufed" if he hadn't had a string of "strong" designs. In the end he was in "the bottom 3", but allowed to leave the runway.

Sweet Pea continues her on again / off again success, this week being "off". Her client, Candice, the reigning champ calls her self a "Sex Kitten", preferring to wear robes and having a big "reveal".

Rickey is "Auf". His client was Layla. I don't remember what her "character" was, but it clearly wasn't a swimsuit model. Rickey had first choice of the WWE Diva's so he shouldn't have had such a hard time. He wasn't as bad as Rami or Sweet Pea, but he's out:

Project Runway - "Even Designers Get the Blues"

This week the designers were challenged to take Levi's jeans and jackets in various colors and textures, and create an original iconic denim design for Levi's. From this point forward there will be no immunity for the winner. The field seems to be narrowing quickly, doesn't it? The judging panel liked most of the designs, more so than in any past week that I can recall. Let's take a look:

The winner? Ricky. The judges felt for the first time they saw what they had been hoping for from Ricky, the influence of his lingerie experience. As the winner of this challenge Rickey's design will be available as a limited edition on Levis.com:

Sweet Pea and Rami (l to r):

Chris and Christian (l to r):

The bottom two? These were clearly the most poorly conceived designs. Jillian's could have been cute without the sleeves maybe? And to think they almost won last week? Jillian and Victorya:

Victorya is OUT.

I am starting to pull for Jillian and Christian to make the Final 3, so I'm glad it was Victorya! I really liked Christian using the sleeves at the bottom of the pants. The problem I have with Christian is I don't see his designs being wearable by a large segment of the population. They look great on the models, but will everyday people buy his stuff? What do you think?

Project Runway - "En Garde"

This weeks challenge to the designers was to create an avante garde look inspired by their models hair. Tim tells them this should be conceptual and artistic, and does not really even need to be wearable. The designers are paired in teams randomly, and are told to designate a leader and select one of their models hair as the inspiration. On day 2, they are told they need to create a second ready to wear garment inspired by their avante garde design. They are also told the winning team and their models will be featured in a TRESemme ad in Elle magazine.

The winners: "Team Fierce" Christian and Chris, Christian team leader

Second Place went to Victorya and Jillian, Victorya the team leader:

Rami and Sweet Pea: Rami was the leader and in the bottom two.

Kit and Ricky: Kit was the leader and Kit was OUT

I was actually expecting this week to either be Kit, Sweet Pea or Ricky, so no big surprise. Rami joined them in the bottom 4. Along with the judges I was also a little dissapointed in Rami. All of his designs look the same, beautiful, but the same? I hope he can snap out of it next week. I am starting to root for Jillian to make fashion week. She's come up with some amazing designs. Even though Victorya was team captain, the trench coat concept was Jillians. And Team Fierce rocked! Theirs was a true collaboration of designers, with no bickering.
