Gina Glocksen engaged!

The American Idol tour came through Chicago (Gina's home town) last night and her longtime boyfriend Joe proposed marriage in front of the hometown fans! It was cute...he had the engagement ring nestled in her pickle. You'll remember Gina talking during the show that her stuffed pickle toy was her good luck charm. Here's a video. Somethings just ain't right. It wasn't her time yet. I expected Gina was different enough to outlast Haley and Phil, if not TEAM Sanjaya. Well, THAT is American Idol.

Gina is someone that Idol fans have known longer than most of these contestants due to tons of TV time in Season 5, when she just missed making the Top 44. It always amazes me how much they grow once in the Top 12. And Gina DID transform before our eyes! She was one of the few that seemed to really listen to the guest mentors. These kids benefit so much from the mentors, the stylists, the band...whoever is involved in helping them. TEAM Idol!

I'm happy that Gina made it as far as she did, but like those before her (Sundance, Brandon, Chris S) she got the boot sooner than she should have. This boot seemed to shake the other Idol's more than any other...at lest since the Top 12 was named. I think Gina was well liked among the bunch.

Kid's, it's not gonna get any easier.

Wow...and not a good WOW. It's like she started in the wrong key and was never able to recover? It may have sounded better in the venue? OOPS Simon said NO. Maybe her fans will pull her through. I hope so!
