Bye, Bye, Kiki

Simon Cowell told all of the Top 24 contestants they may as well book their plane tickets home after Lakisha performed "I Am Telling You, I'm Not Going" on the first night of the Top 12 Girls performances. While she has gotten a mix of both good and bad reviews from the judges, similar praise Lakisha has not received since.

I think Lakisha had a couple of judgement errors that she kept repeating. She picked the wrong songs, and she didn't listen to the advice of the mentors. I remember back to Lulu practically begging Lakisha to sing another song, and she didn't. Well, either way, 4th place isn't too shabby! Congrats Kiki!

Randy said wasn't her best, but liked it; Paula has a hard time not thinking about Fantasia; Simon thought it was a little shouty again...Ryan cut him off before he could finish his thoughts.

It's hard to be critical tonight, all the Idols seem to really be sincere in their singing. Well I thought it was good! Better than last week for Kiki!

Lakisha Jones - Jesus Take The Wheel

Not bad KiKi! She mentioned to Martina that she feels she can relate to this song. She seems to sing it with feeling. Judges didn't feel her and the song went together well...all three of them.

Lakisha Jones - Conga

Lakisha looks like she can't wait to get off the stage. She doesn't look comfortable with this genre at all. Good vocals as usual though!

Lakisha Jones - Stormy Weather

Great song choice for Lakisha! Not bad...maybe would have preferred Melinda or Jordin singing this...

Kiki's back! She was starting to disappear into the mix a little I think? All three judges liked it. First uptempo song from Lakisha at all...right?

Wierd nite...the stronger singers aren't doing as great. Certainly better than Stephanie. I wonder if Simon will tell her she should have done the other? My TV cut out during the judges...I guess I will have to wait to see the video..

I actually like Katharine McPhee's version of this song better (as seen in her audition)...but Lakisha did great!
