Like last night I will update occassionally, and finish after the show with a complete update and videos!
Alaina Whitaker just auditioned. A Top 50 contestant. The kind of personality Simon likes! She said I like to think Carrie Underwood looks like ME, when asked if she is compared to her a lot. Good personality, not arrogant. She sang Stronger by Faith Hill.
So far, no one from the rumored Dallas list has been shown auditioning.
Here comes Brandon Green!
Brandon Green, 21, sings "Rich Girl" by Hall and Oats, Simon says forgettable. I thought he had a very nice tone to his voice. Different. We need different!
Kayla Hatfield, the first one from the list! Singing a Janis song she tells us (Joplin that is). "Take Another Little Piece of My Heart". I doubt Randy or Paula would have put her through but Simon liked her, so Randy relented. She was extremely hyper! Simon said "I'd like to be you for one hour everyday."
We see a name not familiar? Kadie Malloy, Simon says the best so far this audition season. She listed on her application that she can do imitations, so they asked her to sing Britney Spears, which she did very well. Then she started singing "Before He Cheats". Simon stopped her and said sing something that will show us Kadie. She sang Simon's favorite song beautifully. "Unchained Melody" Hmmmm.
Colton Swon, Top 50 contestant, out of nowhere!
Omigod Drew Poppelreiter! I know he has a lot of fans! He sang a George Straits song and Simon said NO. Randy and Paula put him through.
Nina Shaw - Texas Idol Winner! She sang "Run to You". Simon said No, Paula said "kinda paegenty". She said I have another song, they said 20 seconds, she sang a second song more jazzy and Randy and Paula put her through.
Some more:
Jessica Brown, 24, Longview, TX. She tells her story of how she got into drugs earlier in her life, Took Meth on a daily basis. She has turned her life around and will be satisfied if all that comes out of this is turning someone elses life around. "I'll Stand By You".
Pia "Zpia" Easley, Chicago, background singer, Gladys Night song:
And now, a funny one, an original song written by Renaldo Lapuz for his Idol, Simon. "I Am Your Brother":
24 contestants going to Hollywood from Dallas!
Talkin all things American Idol, So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With The Stars and other QUALITY Reality and Drama TV!
