Let's see how good the spoilers were! Because the show went 8 minutes over last week we will only be hearing from two judges tonight after each performance. The judges will be taking turns...how cute!
Yep! What I am going to do is copy the spoilers into this post and then I will add some comments!
Allison Iraheta - “Don’t Want to Miss a Thing - Aerosmith - from the movie "Armageddon"
Paula - I have been touting Adam's great vocals all season long, but you really have the same qualities. Really really great vocals.
Simon - I don't think I've ever heard a girl sing that song and sing it well. I think you are the only hope the girls have and we could very well see you in the finals.
Me - Not my favorite Allison performance, but I still LOVE her!
Anoop Desai - “Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams - from the movie "Robin Hood"
Randy - Wow - listen you have definitely found your zone; really really good job; congrats!
Kara - You've really found your place and I think it was your best performance so far.
Me - I agree wit Kara that this was Anoops best performance to date. I think on top of "roughing it up" as Quentin suggested, it seemed he was singing in a little higher key? Maybe a better fit for him?
Adam Lambert - “Born to be Wild” by Steppenwolf - from the movie "Born to be Wild"
Paula - Fortune rewards the brave?
Simon - Vocally incredible; a little bit like the rocky horror musical; I liked it but last week was more original; more current
Me - This is actually the first time that I have really enjoyed Adams "instrument". OK...he might be growing on me a little...
Matt Giraud - “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman” by Bryan Adams - from the movie "Don Juan"
Randy - A rough patch in the bridge; wasn't one of your best performances for me.
Kara - I appreciate you took a rock song and tried to add some soul to it; but in doing so you lost some of the melody.
Me - I thought it was pretty good. Randy and Kara are always listening to the performances as "studio" performances where Simon and Paula see it as it is - a "live" peroformance. These contestants all seem so much better tonight. Quentin has done a really nice job of giving these contestants "little things" that make them a whole lot better.
Danny Gokey - “Endless Love” by Diana Ross - from the movie "Endless Love"
Paula - In the beginning I was concerned you started this in too low of a key because you know we love the timbre in your voice; but midway through you pulled it off. beautiful beautiful rendition
Simon - I can't fault the way you sang the song; I was disappointed you used the harp and you didn't change it up more. But I can see that this song was emotional for you and I congratulate you for that.
Me - I like Danny better with glases and also sort of agree with Simon.
Kris Allen - “Falling Slowly” Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova - from the movie "Once"
Randy - it never quite caught on for me; pitchy from note one
Kara - difficult to pick an obscure song; but for me it was one of your best moments.
Me - I almost fell asleep during the song. Not feeling Kris tonight...
** Only six minutes left to finish the commercial break, have Lil perform, and do the recaps!***
Lil Rounds - “The Rose” by Bette Midler - from the movie "The Rose"
Paula - You could not have sung a more beautiful lyric; the rest didn't make much sense
Simon - Lil I think that you are getting this completely wrong; you had some nice moments; I am getting frustrated
Me - I actually thought it was Lil's best peroformance. I thought she finally changed a song up a bit. I can understand she might have a way to go (according to Simon); but I thought for the first time she listened to what the judges have said
Officially 3 minutes over
